Floods in Western Sydney and mid-north coast of NSW

Major flood events in Sydney on Monday morning, March 22, 2021.

Huge parts of western Sydney and the mid-north coast of NSW are inundated with floodwaters and the NSW SES has issued immediate evacuation orders for residents to leave immediately immediately.

Evacuation orders were made for West Penrith Sunday afternoon, with those in the region told to get out by 4.30pm.

NSW SES urges residents in Eastern Creek to evacuate by 3am and in Windsor by 9am Monday.

The SES posted an evacuation order for residents within the western part of Jamisontown to leave by 9pm Sunday night. The evacuation is for all properties within the area of all properties bounded by Jamison road, Surveyors Creek, Blaikie Road, Rear of Penrith Homemaker Centre, Western Motorway and Nepean River.

The Nepean River at Penrith and surrounding areas is likely to experience flooding higher than any thing seen in 60 years.
